Encouraging kids to be physically active for 60 minutes every day.
Why are you planning a Play Day for your community?
We are planning a Play Day to get as many kids together to play, and get more involved in their community as possible. By creating things that will stay in the park for years to come, the park will mean even more to them.
How would you use a grant to improve your playspace?
If we recieved a grant to improve our playspace, we would add new equipment such as a slide, and swings, and extend our current play area to incorporate those. If possible, we hope to eventually add a whole playstructure for kids of all ages to use.
How would improvements of your playspace impact your community?
Improvements would greatly impact our community! Being a small town with only our park and the school park, there aren't many places for kids to play, and we hope to create a space for children of all ages to safely use. The school playground is for kids at least age 5 and older, as well as the swings. We currently have no swings, infant or regular, or any slides, and nothing for anyone under age 5 to use. There is not a single infant swing, smaller slide, or playstructure anywhere in town, and so many children in need of them.
