Why are you planning a Play Day for your community?
Our Parks and Recreation Board has been working tirelessly to raise funds for a new recreation center and has been using every means possible to draw attention to our cause. We hope to draw in more attention to our playground by encouraging the community to come and be active at the current center and see what we are working towards.
How would you use a grant to improve your playspace?
We have a $700,000 project in the works that includes new recreation fields, a walking trail, and many natural enhancements to the area. The crowning glory of the project is a new playground to replace dilapidated and rusty equipment that is currently in place. Any funds acquired through this grant would be used specifically for a portion of that playground.
How would improvements of your playspace impact your community?
Our community has absolutely no safe, modern, ADA accessible equipment for our children and families. By upgrading the park, we will provide healthy and appropriate activities for everyone in our borough and give our children a reason to smile when they come to our community center.
