Supporting healthy kids inside and out.
Encouraging kids to be physically active for 60 minutes every day.
Why are you planning a Play Day for your community?
We are hoping to create a free, fun, family focused play day that promotes wellness, raises funds to support the Derry Rail Trail Alliance & promotes & encourages greater use of the rail trail/bike path network.
How would you use a grant to improve your playspace?
The grant funds would be used to create "rest stops" along the trail with benches and informational signage. Our first project would be a welcome area at the Derry Depot trail head.
How would improvements of your playspace impact your community?
Greater traffic on the rail trail would help help revitalize the downtown Derry business district and encourage families to spend time together outdoors.
