Spartanburg Play Day 2010

On behalf of Southside Unity in the Community, we would like to thank our wonderful City of Spartanburg Parks and Recreation Department for allowing us to host this and our other play days at our most favorite park, Irwin Park!
 
To the Dorman Center Home Depot (Team Depot) volunteers, we are always happy to see those bright orange shirts roll up! Because you guys are Awesome! You helped us build our first playground in 2006, and are still "Park-tici-pating" in our of our efforts. Thanks for your loyalty.

Thanks Partners for Active Living (PAL) for being our Playmaking organization this Summer. We appreciate your partnership.  I remember way back when we worked closely together with all of the Southside efforts. We are glad that you guys are our PAL! LOL!

And to our other community supporters, and many volunteers, waaaay too many to mention, we would be here all day! You know who you are! We love you and are very proud to know that we share the same vision of a healthier community. Thank you Thank you, Thank you! God Bless!

More popular than basketball, I can't believe it. We had to beg them to take a break from the game. They seemed to really like it.

Erionica Long age (6)- enjoyed playing in the slides and running around the park playin tag
Reba Mullins storyteller & poet- It is a event that is much needed and it is a positive youth event
Deiya Lemon- Likes playing with different and new people and its fun
Quita Bennett- Its nice and brings back memories from my childhood

Donica Wray-Martin- Says that it is a fun and exciting day
Tonya Wilson- Says that it is very exciting and playful and it brings back alot of memories.
Shakira Wray- This playday allows parents and kids to recconnect on a whole different level it enables the parents to act like kids once again
Chance LeBron- Its a great cool playing day
